Level One
(Low Risk) · No spread of the pandemic
flu in Karachi. · Minimal number (1-50) of
reported cases in Pakistan, all limited to medical facilities. · KAS community is encouraged
to take their own temperature/record the result twice a day. |
· Requires either an KAS ID
or interview about travel and symptoms using Campus Access Interview form. ·
Assess
temperatures of visitors. |
· Regular school program. · Daily homework provided by
teacher for any student on home quarantine. · E-mail the best option |

(Moderate Risk) · Very limited spread to
definable Karachi locations. · Increasing number of
“probable” cases reported (50-200) in Pakistan. · No KAS students, families,
faculty or staff identified with pandemic flu. · Student attendance remains
high, 90-100%. · Knowledge of pandemic
flu/behavior remains unchanged (i.e., contagiousness, etc.) · Advisories (health) for
travel to Pakistan |
· Only to KAS students, their
parents · Anyone else by appointment
only · ID’s must be worn by every
non-KAS adult at all times while on campus. · Assess temperatures of 100%
of people on campus before entering facility as extra precaution |

of bird flu in Karachi (clear evidence of transfer in public places). · “Probable” pandemic flu cases increases (200-500) in
Northern · Pakistan. · Consulate decides to allow
“authorized” departure (voluntary) of employees. · Average student attendance
below 80-90% · Increasing evidence of
restricted air travel out of Pakistan. · New knowledge of pandemic
flu/behavior emerges (i.e., contagiousness etc.) |
· Continue to assess
temperatures of 100% of those on campus. · Campus closed to non-KAS
visitors (no exceptions) |
· Regular school program
–through EDLINE · self-selecting to stay at
home or exit Pakistan. · All students exit campus by

hospitals are unable to manage or meet health care needs related to the
